Can anybody please give me details of all DM entrances where Medical Oncology is available?

The following are the centers offering DM Oncology in India.
1. Gujarat Cancer & Research Institute,Ahmedabad : 4 seats : Exam May.
2. All India Institute of Medical Science, Delhi : 2 seats : Exam Jan & July
3. Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai : 1 seat : Exam June
4. Kidwai Institute, Bangalore : 2 seats
5. Adiyar Institute, Chennai : 3 seats
6. Nizam's Institute, Hyderabad : 2 seats
7. Rajeev Gandhi Institute, Delhi (DNB ) : 2 seats

I am currently in my final year of DM oncology at GCRI, Ahmedabad.

I would be grateful to you if you could kindly give me more details about GCRI:
What is the format of the entrance?
I am reading Oxford Textbook of Oncology 2Ed. Is this sufficient?
How is GCRI?
What is the emolument you get during the course?

Also, is there any way I can get information about the entrance notifications - because that is the first hurdle...

Are there any US Fellowships which you can do directly after DM Oncology? Do we need to take USMLE for that? How are the prospects in New Zealand and Australia after DM Oncology?

Dear Dr. Priya,
The DM enterance exam in Ahmedabad is conducted by Gujarat University for 9 seats and is general medicine based MCQ test. 200 questions are to be answered in 3 hrs. There is negative marking. Like Mumbai enterance, you get choice of seats depending upon your rank. Seats are as follows
4- Oncology (all MCI recognized)
2- Nephrology (not MCI recognized)
2- Neurology (not MCI recognized)
1- Cardiology (not MCI recognized).
Last exam was given by 170 candidates. The key to answering is not to attempt questions you dont know. The highest score was 140 approx. A good amount of questions are based on Biostatistics and clinical trials. Read your Mahajan and Park & Park (PSM ) well. You dont need to prepare oncology oriented.
I hope this shall help.
Regarding fellowship in US, I believe USMLE is must even after doing DM . Oncology has got very good scope abroad and even more so in India as there are only 12 seats all over in a year. This course has started around 15 years back in India. So upto now there are less than 200 qualified DM oncologists in the country. Some states like UP, Haryana have none. So the scope in India is as good.

Would you please let me know similar details about other DM entrances like Tata Memorial, Mumbai - Does it come under the common Maharashtra entrance or is it separate?

And similarly the institutes in Tamil Nadu?

About the US fellowships, I wanted to know if an Internal Medicine residency there is essential prior to a Hemat/Oncol fellowship or it is possible to take up the fellowship directly after USMLE ?

Besides AIIMS , there is 1 seat in Maharashtra enterance at KEM for DM hematology and 2 seats at CMC Vellore .
