Quick Scroll UAE Registration Process After Clearing MOH for GPs 11.16.05 (3 years ago) #1

Hi everybody I am sharing this knowledge with everyone so it can help those in my situation as it has made me sick to the gut dealing with MOH and Licensing Authorities.
Now for those of you who clear the MOH and want to start work as GPs you should know that a year ago Ministry of Health used to evaluate and issue practicing license for the doctors. Now MOH evaluates doctors and for licensing there is a new Health Authority to contact. Due to fantastic communication and co operation with UAE Departments no one in MOH can exactly tell you where the Health Authority office is. For Abu Dhabi I can tell you it is 5 minutes drive from MOH office and its on Najdaf street next to Al Masood car showroom. After you get there and submit your documents they will be reviewed by Certificate Review Commitee. If you lack any document or have shortage of experience they will inform you
(Of course I mean you have to repeatedly check with them about it) then if your application is approved by them it will be forwarded to Licensing commmitee who will issue you with a license. The cost for private sector is 2600 AEDirhams. Now you have a license and you will give it to the employer to start your visa process. (Before you apply for a license you have to get a Job Offer letter from your employer to go along with the application process for license in the first place)The most frustrating and annoying thing about the licensing is that commitee meetings occur rarely it takes more than a month or two for these to occur .The outstanding communication skills of the staff in english and their prompt anwering of the telephone which is usually around 4-5 minutes after the bell rings makes all the process more interesting and calming for you.
The doctor has to bear the cost of the license and this process. The employer will take care of the VISA and expenses related to it. Now there is another catch or a problem which recently started. In september 2005 a law has been introduced which requires you to send a copy of your original degree to the Parent Institute which issued it in Pakistan or India etc and to get it certified. It costs 500 AED it is said by the post authorities that this process will take 2-4 weeks but the first batch of degrees sent in this september has not been returned yet ( If someone has updates on this please post it here)The good thing about it is that one doesnt has to get the degree certified by the foreign office or UAE embassy in your country Check it on FAQs of Etisalat dot com.

If any of my information helps anyone plz reply to this post with a smiley to make my day.I will really appreciate if some one can post some more information.
