Some of the fibres in the radiation pass from the LGN anteroinferiorly through the temporal lobe as Meyer's loop. This route carries information from the upper and outer parts of the visual field. So the lesion causes upper homonymous quadrantanopias.

It is said that, fibres frm lower quadrant(upper half of vision) pass to temporal lobe, while those frm upper qdrnt(lower half of vision) go to parietal lobe...
hence lesion in tmprl lobe causes homonymous superoir quadrantonopia...(described as 'pie in the sky')
