also how much time is requird for visa clearance??? icon_question.gif icon_eek.gif icon_eek.gif

well i too dont know much abt thses queries which u asked but if u complete ur steps before sept 2006 u can join for residency match of 2007. well i think depending on ur knowledge and how well u study i guess tis enuf time if u start now if u take 3 months for step 1 and step 2 ck(each) and 2 months for step 2 cs.

correct me if i'm wrong

Quick Scroll hello 11.25.05 (3 years ago) #6

hi,

i already told u that it depends on ur previous knowledge and ur present time (hours ) of preparation. i think it is around 3-4 months for step 1 and 2- 3 months for step 2 ck (do this part as soon as possible after step 1 like 2-3 months after taking step 1, wen ur step 1 topics r still fresh in ur mind , it helps u a lot since both steps r inter related ) . and step 2 cs 2 months wid full time engaged in studies.

as for nalpak notes is concerned it is enuf for USMLE but u can follow najlog Pathology (all say that it is bible for Pathology )

lippincotts for pharmac

brs for Physiology i already dicussed this topic. iguess!

further if u get any doubt after reading r wile reading u can review ur text books like ganong , guyton (standard books r class notes taken wen u r in ur medicalschool)(quoted if u get any doubt in physio u can review according to subjects icon_razz.gif

hi

do the questions in q bank before reading the topic r subject it gives u idea abt wat to read and wat not to read ( text books not in nalpak notes since it is bible everything is important there.)and further it is usefull since it raises inquistive ness to know abt the topics which and were we went wrong

hope this helps u

Quick Scroll thanks once again 11.25.05 (3 years ago) #8

hey sravya thanks once again......
that was good enough to answer my querrries......
i am currently refferin to guyton & ganong
as i m bit free..i have heard that it is again very difficult to appear for interviews for residency match despite good scores.....although i know that they see some other things like grad score, other certificates,& any other xtra curricular activities but then also there is some luck factor.....
how much true is it?? icon_question.gif
i m sorryto trouble u but these r basic querries which needs some second thoughts........also can u work in some US hospitals if u have cleared steps but did not match due to any other reason icon_sad.gif .......
neways all the best for your preaparataion
we can discuss some Physiology as i m just fiishin general physio....i m bit slow now as i m busy wd internship but will catch up after a month
anyways thanks once again icon_biggrin.gif
study well

Quick Scroll hello miteesh, 11.25.05 (3 years ago) #9

hi,

all ur fears abt residency match r justifiable. since it is difficult to get a residency match .but all r saying that if u get 90% u will sure get interviews and of course matches. but it also depends on ur communicating skills.yes u r rite regarding extras like observership externship etc.they also add points too but do ur best wid watever u have in ur hands and dont worry abt wat u dont have yaar! many of us who got thru r like us only
so be happy dont start ur preparation wid worries in ur head .be kool be confident and do ur duty wid smile on ur face. success is not far. icon_biggrin.gif
bye
