yes . this is not a spelling mistake , but i would really love to take an advice about this , do u think MRCP would be useful for a psychiatrist?
how it might affect his career , if one plan to got both MRCP and MRCPsych ?

The only way it can affect the career is in "positive" way. Having a MRCP will give you an unbeatable advantage in getting SpR jobs in Old age Psychiatry .

so you think it is a good idea to apply for MRCP 1 before travelling to uk ? do you think it will have a good effect on a sho psychiatrist cv ?

definitely, having cleared MRCP Part 1 will give you an advantage over other applicants as you are demonstrating a sound basic medical knowledge (a plus point for any psychiatric trainee). Some Interview panels might ask you the reason behind doing MRCP part 1 (as they might think that you are applying for Psychiatry as a second choice after being unsuccessful in medicine job interviews and thus doubt your dedication towards a career in Psychiatry ). And you might need to give a plausible and convincing explanation then!

Anyways, good luck with your plan. The only problem that we can visualise is the current turmoil in UK medical system and changeover to foundation training schemes which might lead to abolition of basic psychiatric training schemes as such.
