A 6 month old boy has patent ductus arteriosus and presents with congestive heart failure.
surgical management in the form of ligation of ductus arteriosus was planned
the most appropriate inhalational anaesthetic of choice with minimum haemodynamic alteration is

some say that it is isoflurane as it has least effect on myocardial contractility but
sevoflurane is the preffered induction agent in chilren
and isoflurane also causes coronary steel phenomenon
wat is the right ans???

iso is the answer here coz sevo will increase the shunt fraction and increase the cyanosis
iso is cardiosafe
if the q was inhal agent of choice in a normal child the answer would be sevo
hope the query is cleared
