Hi all ,
I am an indian medical graduate and would like to pursue a career in internal Medicine in the US . Here is what i know :
1 apply and clear step 1 step2 - ck and cs go for match , hope for interview , get selected and join then its balle balle Amritsar to LA ( provided i get the visa.
so with this much knowledge and an approximate idea that a 95 plus percentile is reqd in step1 and 2. Could any one please guide me as to whatthe current scenario is for indian med grads. and what are the chances of landing a good int med residency.
which are the universities suitable for ppl like us.
which is a relatively safe place and which are the ones to be avoided.
Consdering the facts that its a costly affair what are the prospects of a middle class background person to get through to this eventual dream of internal Medicine residency in some good us university hospital.
Please do answer questions like:
What is a good score?
what should be the timing shedule of taking the steps.
how bad is the visa situation
what visa is neede for cs
what visa is needed for residency
is step3 and added advantage before the match?
Please take time out and help me here as i am really in two minds about the whole thing.
