An army recruit, smoker and 6 months into training started
> complaining of
> pain at posterior medial aspect of both legs. There was acute
> point tenderness
> and the pain was aggravated on physical activity. The most
> likely diagnosis is:
> 1. Burger's disease
> 2. Gout
> 3. Lumbar canal stenosis
> 4. Stress fracture

can some one pls tell me how we rule out buergers here??--is it point tenderness??that goes against..

also this qn was discussed in previous section and few quotes were that stress fracture on tibia gives ant hairline fracture on tibia so more like ly to give ant tenderness....is that so??cant find ref in maheshwari.

I think point tenderness rules out burger's disese alright.

i found mudit khanna's explanation reasonable.

yes..buergers is ruled out cos of point tenderness..

the clue here is "increases on physical activity"
