Armanni Epstein cells are optically empty cells in the proximal tubule found in cases of hyperglycemia existing for a long time (and are therefore hardly observed these days) in Diabetes mellitus. They most probably contain glycogen. The stain used in the above image is PAS

other thing i am reminded is--ebstein's pearls--

thats seen in a normal new born term infant.--on palate--which resolve spontaneously..
