I just got my GRE results and i've done pretty good on verbal and math(600 and 780 respectively) but my writing score is low(3).
I hold an MD and am trying to get a PHD from a top university.Is my low writing score a major drawback?
Can I retake the writing section separately?

hey.....

nope.... u cannot retake just the writing section.... u have to write the entire exam.... i.e. ver/quant/anal writing.... so i wudnt advise that....

ur scores r very good... dont worry...... just make sure ur SOP and LOR's r great and u'll definately get thro to a good univ

hey dont worry most universities consider V and Q only for admissions. u might face difficulty to get in top universities with low writing score. I had 3.5 and i have got admit in Uni Of Michigan Ann Arbor
