The Supreme Court today clarified that it had not authorised any association or body to conduct an all India Common Entrance Test(CET) for admission to medical,engineering and other professional courses in private institutions for the 2006-07 session. The order was passed on a contempt petition by one Ishari K Ganesh, Chairman of a Pharmacy College in Tamil Nadu, alleging that the All India Medical and Engineering Colleges Association was issuing advertisements in newspapaers about the CET stating that it was permitted by the Surpeme Court to do so.
