hi all!!! am going to have my 3rd yr classes this january...and have no idea as to what bks i should use for studies...
UNFORTUNATELY......i wasn't guided well in my first 2 yrs....but i dont want this to happen again
Could anyone help me out with the books coz i got no clue......INADDITION as am gettin way too serious about my future and stuff ...i don wanna waste time and start studying for USMLE and stuff....or atleast try to develop a method of study that wud b helpful in da future.......PLZ RESPOND.....i wanna b thankful that i found this forum

Dear Alias I am not an expert in this topic and there are certain others out there who can give u a better advice but i just want to get the stone rolling so here goes nothing. First of all if u plan to go 4 USMLE go to ur nearest and a big Medical book shop and ask then for a set of USMLE step books, usually in big shops the shop keeper know these books as they are bought frequently, only select the subjets that u have studied like Anatomy physio etc and the ones the u will study this year like pharma. It may dent your budget but will be a good investment 4 ur future. In ur spare time go through these books I have heard that Pharma Lippincot is good for steps and for revision use Board review series books as u would require in USMLE . There are few subjects in USMLE that we dont have like Behavioural sciences try to go through them in 3 and 4 th year as there is enough time in these years as compared to first and final prof. In fact one of my friends gave USMLE step 1 while in 4 th year and cleared it. He cleared step 2 after final year so this is a very good time and decision 4 u if u want to be serious , u will certainly find people preparing 4 steps try to find their schedule and books. B4 u buy books for ur future classes always check that they match the USMLE pattern books as most USA books like Lippincot for pharma do. Try your best and leave the rest to GOD

hi!!!yar ..get some easy books to get through ..for pharma get 'lippincott', for patho 'robin' and for foresic get the 'multiauthor'... but if u wanna geta high score and preparing for PLAB .. then get international books as well... u know to pass a viva specially in my med clg ( QMC) its needed to read 'multiauthor' of Pharmacology as well...and one more thingi for u boy.. u must visit a library in ur medical school where u must meet some senior preparing for the USMLE ... thats the plce where u can get a bug chance to know like , what to study, where to study etc etc.. bestofLUCK

u r right.. we hve same roots of being in the same medical college

... but u know times have changed!!! when u were there it was Islamia university... now its UHS , i being the member of LAST class who has taken the 1st proff composite...
now composite is in PARTS...so i think time is changing...

and still changes occuring coz ENT and Eye is now in fourth year...
i cant appear in it coz i'm in final now

a little joke came to my mind after reading ur answer u gave to the kid..(aliasESEM) ..go to a big medical book shop and ask for MLE books...

consider if he goes to Medical Market and orders the MLE books...
