a 10 yr old school, perfomance decreased over past 2 months .he has headache ,gait ataxia and double vision all progreesive wth time.wht is the immediate test of choice?
a.ct scan brain
b.EEG
c.urine fr ketones
d.MRI scan of brain
wht could be the diagnosis here?

mri has the advantage over ct in demonstrating abscess in early stage and superior to ct in identifying abscess in post cranial fossa
as acc to me the sp occup lesion in this child cud be abscess,ataxia is pointing towards thecerebellar abscess.
and the age is the most imp signal in this ques for brain abscess.brain abscess is more common in children
