what is the antidote of atropine poisoning ?

is it physostigmine OR neostigmine??








when we use beta blockers for something lika prophylaxis against maigraine headache and his heartrate is slow or
60 beats per minute do we prefer propranolol (with no ISA) OR oxprenolol(with ISA) and why

thanks alot doctor but are you sure that IN THESE DAYS it is physostigmine

because i heard from prof in Pharmacology that the antidote in atropine poisoning is neostigmine

although it doesnot BBB {not physostigmine because it pass BBB to avoid its CNS actions which may lead to convulsions }

but in dead i read in pharma book as you said so i am very confused

about migraine i mean doctor that in which cases we prefer the use of beta blockers with ISA in the treatment

Well propanolol is used in migraine prophylaxis. Beta blockers with ISA are never used in migraine prophylaxis. They should also not be used in secondary prophylaxis of myocardial infarction.

As such beta blockers are advisable for use only in patients with bradycardia, sick sinus syndrome etc. ie. in old age patients. But this use is generally restricted to its use as an anti hypertensive

Slow intravenous administration of physostigmine in doses of 1 to 4 mg (0.5 to 1 mg in children), 32 repeated as needed in one to two hours, to reverse severe anticholinergic symptoms; use of physostigmine with caution and only with cardiac monitoring 36.

please doctors i direct my Q TO the clinical doctors


i want to know is it really that some doctors clinically prefer neostigmine instead of physostigmine because it doesnot pass BBB so no danger of it but physostigmine can pass so it may lead to convulsions and other CNS effects so it is NOT used CLINICALLY
