hey firri.does ur college follow the GPA system. If so u can calculate GPA. otherwise dont calculate it.Most universities shall accept a percentile or percentage system.
GPA calcualtion is complicated enuf and in case u make a mistake there, ull be submitting false records.
Please talk to ur seniors regarding this. They'll be of a MCh better help.

Hi firri..dana is right. You dont need to calculate your GPA..its not required of international students to submit it.You can just submit your percentage or percentile score. Most universities actually calculate it after u send them ur transcripts .Some universities like ..univ of texas houston actually require it..but they only accept an official evaluation for it through WES..so you dont need to calculate either way.
But if u want to know ur GPA conversion for ur personal satisfaction or to predict chances of ur admit somewhere..then u can try google search for 'how to calculate GPA from percent'..it gives few useful links..You shud look for the 4 point system..not the 5 point or 6 point..meaning convert ur percentage to a scale of GPA on 4.0.hope this helps.

Yeah you do not need to calculate your GPA for applying. American universities have lots of international students and they know that we dont follow the GPA system. However some programs do need GPA - in that case it would be clearly mentioned on their website and they will also notify about it to you thru email. Most of them time the international students office of the university does it for you, if not they will direct you to some specific agencies like World Education Services -www.wes.org. They charge a fees for it..around $100. But dont get ur GPA evaluated beforehand by a particular agency, as different universities want it verified by different agencies and you could end up loosing money. so wait for an email from them or better still email them.
