The cave of retzius lies in front of the bladder behind the anterior abdominal wall.
The significane is during a full a bladder the peritoneum over the bladder reflects directly onto the posterior part of abdomen thus leaving this potential space quite wide to allow a suprapubic incision directly into the bladder .. to collect urine for any purpose ..
