The visa you will need will depend on your purpose in going to Australia , and how long you intend to stay. icon_smile.gif Can you elaborate on that? icon_smile.gif

You have 3 options:
1) Take the AMC exam in Australia using a tourist visa, then go back to UK or whereever you're from, then go back again for the second AMC exam. You cannot work using a tourist visa. Tourist visa generally lasts for 3 months, though you may be given a 6 months visa, or multiple visa for a year.
2) If you have been given an Area of Need position, your visa would be a temporary residence visa, your employer will help you with this. While you're in Australia , take the AMC exam.
3) Take a course in Australia for 1-2 years on a student's visa. You can work 20hours/week with this visa.

Unless you have a relative in Australia , or a PR or an Australian citizen, staying in Australia without a job is expensive.

Hope this helps. icon_smile.gif

Hi Portia,

If you are on a student visa, you can take the AMC exam without having to apply for another visa.

However to be able to work in an Area of need, you will first need to be given a job in a hospital to be able to apply for a temporary visa.

Regards.

Hi mohammad_sadeghi,

Don't worry about it. As long as you are legally in Australia (whatever visa you use to go there), you may be able to sit for the AMC exams. AMC does not mind what visa you use to go there, as long as you are in Australia and have been deemed eligible to take the exam, you may take the AMC exam.

Regards. icon_smile.gif
