HI, All
I made a call to the High commision of SA in Islamabad Pakistan and asked about the examination and registration of doctors in SA.
they told me that for registering in SA for pakistani Drs. there is no need of test, YOu just need to pay the registration fees (8000 rands, 15/09/2005 the date when I called) and you get the registeration.
I THINK THIS MAY ALSO APPLY TO INDIANS DOCTORS...
this was also told by one of my seniors but he refused to go there bcoz acc. to him Salary were not sufficient and 2ndly SA is also notorious for HIV, his words.
Anyone else having latest information should write it down.
Bye

HI ,
A FRIEND OF MINE TOLD THAT SOUTH AFRICAN GOVERNMENT ALLOWS A LIMITED NUMBER OF DOCTORS TO BE REGISTERED TIME BY TIME AND THAT AT PRESENT THEY ARE NOT REGISTERING DOCTORS.
IS IT TRUE ?
PLEASE TELL SOME LINKS TO SOUTH AFRICAN MEDICAL REGULATORY BODY PLEASE.
THANKS IN ANTICIPATION

i dont know.. maybe it is ture...coz they are changing their ceriterias time by time..
their official site is
but i explored all of it and it does not give any details about anything..
THE BEST WAY IS TO CALL THEIR EMBASSY IN UR COUNTRY..
any way search ur own way to that.. i already told the salaries are very less out there and u may get more in ur own coutry rather than going to south africa
regards

hi naemz,
i had a couple of guys in our batch from africa while i was doing the UG course in Russia
. this is what they had to say about SA :
salary for beginners was about a USD 1k.
high HIV risk
high crime rate in most of the big cities and ur a lot more vulnerable if u r a foreigner
high nosocomial infections.
hope i did'nt hijack ur plans to SA!!!
cheers.
