Q 38 Investigation of abdominal pain
Options A u/s abd B Rectal exam C Upper GI endo D Ba meal E Sigmoidoscopy F Colonoscopy G CT scan of abd H KUB x-ray I pelvic u/s J laparoscopy K erect chest x-ray.
1. A 60 y/o man complains of severe colicky pain from his rt flank radiating to his groin. His uninalysis reveals trace blood cells.
2. A 25 y/o woman complains of severe lower abd pain and increasing abd girth. Her urine HCG is negative.
3. A 60 y/o obese man complains of severe epigastric pain radiating to his back. The pain is relieved by eating and worse at night.
4. A 65 y/o hypertensive man presents with lower abdominal pain and back pain. An expansive abdominal mass is palpated lateral and superior to the umbilicus.
5. An 80 y/o woman suffering from rheumatoid srthritis presents with severe epigastric pain and vomiting. She also complains of shoulder tip pain.
