syphilis can be transported through semen????can it???

can syphilid be transported through the placenta???

Syphilis transmission usually occurs transplacentally or by sexual contact. Other modes of transmission include contact with contaminated blood or infected tissues. Children encounter 2 forms of syphilis: acquired syphilis, transmitted almost exclusively by sexual contact; and congenital syphilis, resulting from transplacental transmission of spirochetes.
