Quick Scroll Kaplan courses - useful for MCCEE and MCCQE? 01.31.06 (2 years ago) #1

Dear friends and colleagues,

I am new to this forum. Thanks to the moderators for keeping up this kind of forum.

My question is whether the courses offered by Kaplan are useful in the preparation of the Canadian licencing exams. I am going to start studying for MCCEE after the German board exam in Psychiatry which I will take in May. If there is a slight chance that Kaplan - which is geared towards USMLE and not towards Canadian exams - will nonetheless be of help in preparing for MCCEE and the qualifying exams I will buy the course.

Does anybody of you have any experiences to share about Kaplan preparatory courses?

Thanks in advance.

Andreas (from Berlin, Germany)

hey again everyone....i have the exact same question in mind...whether kaplan is the right institute to join for mccee...
i also wud like to know the degree of similarities and differences between mccee and USMLE and whether its possible to study for both together....i've for now decided to join kaplan for USMLE but i'm more inclined towards mccee coz i have a family base in toronto.
it wud be really nice if someone cud throw light upon this perplexing issue for me...
thanx.
Shveta.

Just in case you have some information to share about Kaplan courses and you don't want to sign in - mail me directly:

andreasz_mtl at the domain that starts with a "ya" and ends with a "hoo dot com" icon_wink.gif

Thanks.
Andreas

PS And by the way, I am interested to know people from Montreal who study for MCCEE in September.

Hey guys! I studied both the Kaplan Step2 notes and Toronto notes. I'll have to say that they are somewhat different... the topics are mostly the same but the approach is very different.

Reading both could be advantageous but not if you lack the time. So in my opinion, if you intend to study for the MCCEE or QE1, dwell more on Toronto notes. For USMLE , use Kaplan.

Hope this helps!

Good luck!
