Hello,
I want to ask u a question that a child have cephalic injury in past 8 hrs, is there any specific time in which he should have any symptom like vomiting giddiness etc after that time he will b safe though having injury.

head injury- it depends on the impact,force,its direction and other comorbidities and counter and contr-coup injuries.

u can have sudden death or delayed slowly alterd sensorium with the development of sub dural hematoma and rarely u develop meningitis if there is a csf leak secondary to trauma....

so u should be watchful enough...do a complete general and cns exam...order a imaging esp CT -/+ LOOk CAREFULLY FOR SKULL # AND so and so...
alwys ask the pt to come bck to hospital if he should develop signs of ict etc-EXPLAIN CLEARLY.

ALSO IN THE PAST HISTORY ASK ABOUT PREVIOUS HEAD INJURY EITHER ACCIDENTAL OR CHID ABUSE IN CASE OF ALTERED SENSORIUM/CSF LEAK OR....
