Hi friends,
Why not have a easily referable list of various Gold Standards at our favorite website.
I am listing the few which i know of, please feel free to add any others and to correct the ones which have been wrongly pointed out.

1. HCV RNA assay is the Gold standard in diagnosis of Hepatitis C

2. Prostacycline is the gold standard medical Rx for symptomatic Progressive Pulmonary Hypertension

3. Conventional X-Ray arteriography is the gold standard for diagnosis of atherosclerotic arterial narrowing of cerebral arteries

4. PET is the gold standard for imaging ischemic or hybernating Myocardium

5. ERCP is the gold standard for diagnosis Chronic Pancreatitis

6. gold standard therapy for Brucellosis is Streptomycin + Doxycycline

The gold standard for pulmonary embolism Spiral CT hai kya? Is it not PULMONARY ANGIOGRAPHY?

Hey great going..
Here are some more :
- 2D echo Gold Std for Mitral Stenosis
- Lap cholecystectomy is GS for Rx of symptomatic cholelithiasis
- a +ve EIA with a confirmatory Western blot is GS for diagnosing HIV infection
