Quick Scroll Story of a Guy "MH-PG-CET rank 1" ! 02.17.06 (2 years ago) #1

Story of a Guy "MH-PG-CET rank 1" !

Yesterday I met my friend Sagar (AIPG 06 : Rank 2005) who was my classmate in 12th. He had his mbbs from Latur in Maharashtra . He did his study for PG at Pune.
I asked him, "With whom u used to study? "
He said, "We had a group of 4 guys, living in a flat at Mangalwar peth Pune."
and he continued, "One of us got Rank 1 in MH PG CET!"
I was stunned! just freeezed , , , what to say? i was so excited, and so speechless!
"WHAT!" i nearly shouted , "R U KIDDING?"
He just smiled!!!! and said "Raman is First" ...
I had a full glass of water, and then i started throwing Questions at Sagar , my college friend , who was telling me the Unbelievable story..

By this time he was used to for such situations! I don't know how many times he had told this news to others in last 3 days .. in person, on cell …

He started again, " Raman and I were not only classmates, but also batch mates, Raman was very clever student in UG days,, He used to come either 1st or 2nd .
When we finished the final year, we did internship at Latur itself. It was cool , not so busy. We studied for the AIPG 05 at that time, but study was not so much to expect good rank, Raman got no rank in AIPG 05! But got state rank as 936.
(from Rank 936 to Rank 1 ! in just 365 Days!)
As we were not getting any clinical branch , all of us decided to study for AIPG 06.
We arrived at Pune, found out a flat in Mangalwar peth , which is near by to B. J. Medical college Pune. We started study in the month of FEB (2005).

"Oh! so u stayed at pune whole year? Joined classes or test series?" I asked.

Sagar continued, "We started study in the private library, which was the place where from near by flats we all used to come daily, each day, each week, each month,, till AIPG 06".

"Why u opted for pune?" my basic Question.

"It was really cool place, away from home, no tensions and no worries of any thing.
Library was very near and Murli Bharadwaj and Bhatia test series were also near us.

"How Raman used to study?" a curious child inside me was just jumping up n down to know what Dr. Raman did ?
I was knowing the other Dr Raman from science books! But This Raman's "Raman effect" was making me flat!

"How he studied? Tell me Yaar"
Sagar told , " Raman started the study in the top gear from Feb itself and the pace was just maintained in whole year! No giving ups, No second thought.
When he started, he only stopped after the exam and no were in between.
He started with the first year subjects. Read anat from BDC, Physio from Ganong and Biochem from Harper. Side by side mudit and Ashish were also on.
Then he finished second years subjects, and then final years..

"How many books he read in whole year?" I interrupted Sagar.

" MK and ASHISH , all standard text books, SARP series
books and that's all" Sagar told.

"That's all?" I again asked.

"Yes , that's all."

"What was his method of study?" I was not ready to stop without the finer details!

Sagar continued, "Raman used to go Retro. He used to read MK and Ashish subject wise and used to back refer the Qs in the textbooks, mostly in Harrison.
Thus he finished all the subjects well before the time, and appeared in AIIMS NOV 05,
Where he cracked 35th Rank.
His memory is very sharp and grasping power is amazing!

"What he used to have in his breakfasts?" (silly Question, I shouldn't have asked!)
"Idli , Wada , Poha any thing available at local corner." Came the reply from laughing sagar!

"What was his daily Time Table?" (For me Time Table is a thing, which I have to make a Fresh every time!)

"He used to wake up at 9.30 or up to 10 am, used to have his breakfast and daily News paper reading. Then he used to be in the library from 11am to 3pm. Then lunch and again in the library from 5 to 10pm. Back to room and study. He used to sleep at 1am , again to wake up at 10 am next day. This continued whole near without change!
He stayed at the room during Ganesh Festival , when we all came back to our homes.
He even remained at the room in the Diwali!! No quitting for a single day!!!"

"Wow amazing! What a commitment!" I was very much impressed!

"…and the rest is the present!! U all know!

Dr. Raman Gaikwad , a guy who has done his UG at Latur, cracked Rank No. 1 in maharashtar state pg exam 2006! And 6th Rank in AIPG 2006! And 35th Rank in AIIMS Nov 2005)

Hmm.I have a feeling that he is not a surgery candidate or else he wudnt leave pediatric surgery at AIIMS .Med n radio are both much better at maulana azad than KEM.I think he shud opt for that.

Quick Scroll proud of raman 02.19.06 (2 years ago) #10

thankz harshad for dedication this piece to the one who really deserves it.......

mee too done UG from latur n dr.raman was my seniour....... infact he was really ''a cut above competition'' rite from his UG life(he said this line in one of debate competition in our college).... saying it n executing in implication it to prove that ur words r said n done is what craftin niche outta u...

Raman proved it that even private college-ites can crack it in style if they have zeal in them

so letz all get started for 2007.
