Quick Scroll FAQ: What are the requirements for medical research in USA? 02.18.06 (2 years ago) #1

Hello! can somebody throw light on what is the requirement for medicos who wish to pursue research in the US. Even though we have no patient contact & treatment decision in the research field, do we still have to clear MLE. Also is GRE a pre requisite for applying to research jobs. Does the Indian MD/MS have value when applying for research jobs? Kindly Advise.

Thanks.

hi. well i have a vague idea about this. but i will tell u all that i know. to pursue any research field in the US, u have to give GRE and TOEFL . u may then send in ur scores to universities and wait for a reply. MLE is not necessary for this. and ya, if u have done any work in the field of research and got ur work published in any medical journals, then it carries a better chance of obtaining a better university. u will have a MASTERS OF SCIENCE degree, which is generally of 2 to 3 yrs depending on the subject. later u can apply for a PhD program.
