Quick Scroll From Rank 2253 to 706 in a Year!! 02.20.06 (2 years ago) #1

I'd got a 2200 something Rank in AIPGE last year which was completely unexpected as it was during my busy Internship period. Alas!! I did not get MD Psych with that kind of a Rank. So i decided to sit at home & study for this year.

The Prospect of Sitting home for a whole year was seemed very bleak & boring. But i kept myself busy giving all kind of exams NIMHANS in April : DNB in June which i managed to clear : AIIMS in Nov : PGI in Dec : AIPGE in Jan : PGM-CET in Jan & NIMHANS again inFeb to complete a full cycle.

I mostly concentrated on Basic Theory for all subjects except the Big 2 Med & Surg. Salgunan was very very helpful. SARP series formed a big part of studies & SURE SUCCESS series also helped me a lot. Also AIIMS Ashish Gupta was a great book. Vidyasagar classes notes & papers with explanations were indispensible. I didn't read Mudit Khanna as much as i should've though.

But I made my own notes at every step from every book. They were in form of one-liners; as collections of Triads, Pentads, Neurochannelopathies, so on & so forth so that by the end of the year i had notes worth reading for a whole week just before the exams. They r my biggest asset & strength.

Finally i did not forget my seniors advice that i should solve no less than 285 questions by solving 291 in the AIPGE exam.

icon_biggrin.gif icon_biggrin.gif I'm so happy that it paid off finally & I can now very optimistically hope to get a MD Psych in Mumbai.
