Static station is a pen and paper station, it may contain MCQ to answer, Xray, ECG interpretation, Blood result interpretation etc.
If you go to New Zealand
Medical council web you will get informations how to prepare for the NZREX, but some OSCE
exam book could be very helpful.
Yes i did observation in New Zealand
hospital and currently working.
I wish all the best for your success for NZREX. Good luck.

Thank you. Other than the pen and paper station there will always be a doctor( Examiner and role playing actor or patient especially in physical examination) One attendent will stand outside your pen and paper station to observe you.
There was no vedio. In history taking part the examiner may stop you to know what Dx Dx you are thinking about.
In physical examination station if you are going to running out of time some examiner may ask you what would you do if there was more time etc. Basically all depends on your approch, the patient and Examiner attitude towards you.
At the end of all station when you come out , the examiner will ask the patient or actor about your communication, empathy and manner and the patient has some marks to gives you .
BOOKS?? Tally Oconner Clinical exam, Good medicine book, David hull ped, Lillian jones Obs
and Gy or any Good Obs
and Gy. books. Some acute Medical/ Surgical/ Gy and Obs
cases. Some very common case in GP ie Headache, Back pain, Manupouse, Oral con. Emergency Con. pill, Child abuse, Depression etc.
Be smart, controll yourself in the moment of heat and be cool.
We know all the staff, only need to deliver in an organized way there, thats what they want from us.
Good luck to you and all the Doctors who are going to sit the June 6th 2006 NZREX Clinical.
