Debate: Sourav Ganguly dropped from cricket team!

Hi all!  This is a thread from a hardcore  cricket fan.And its hardcore as explained by hardcoremallu as 'ardent' or 'passionate' oops  passionate may also give wrong ideas!Anyhow the whole country is discussing about the exclusion of DADA -sourav Ganguly from the team   .Do you think it is justified?  What could be the reasons behind dropping him?
Come on all experts and pundits invited!After all Cricket is a religion in India and only a 'pundit' can speak about it.Type away!!!

I personally feel that Dropping Ganguly out of Team India is a justified.
The way he played dirty politics in the Dressing room hurts other players & the Fans like us who associate their emotions and pride with the win/loss of Team India.
After all the Batting performance of so called DADA is not one of the best 11 if chosen on all India basis. We may expect that He will refrain from playing Divide & rule in the team. But he certainly will have to learn that the place in Indian Team is not taken for granted & it needs Continous hardwork.
Even Sachin needs lessons to be taught at times.
The shocking Incidence regarding Ganguly's Attitude came when he missed a vital ranji match of WB once he got into the team By sheer Political Pressure against Pakistan.
There are limited places in the Team N they need to be filled on Merit. Its not somebody's personal property, ITS TEAM INDIA that includes us all too.
Kudos to Greg Chappel for not giving way to Ganguly's politics as did John Right.
And the ultimate result is in front of us all. Obvious by the almost complete white wash of Pakistan. the only Game they managed to take home was not only by cricketing reasons.
Ganguly Needs to raise his Game as well as Morals. If he does that We will Be happy to see his cover drives & Long on Sixes Again.

hereby Dravid is only one of those Few indian Captians who are still Batting good in the middle. you can take examples of Ganguly, Sachin, Azher.
Rahul is currently the one who plays captians knock in almost every match. He leads from the front, not like ganguly who takes away the credit from others By removing Shirt in A Famous Balcony!!!!!!!!!!

Old order changeth yielding place to new! 
I think what happened was a clear difference of opinions between Sourav and Greg Chappel during the Zimbabwe tour.Also there was an email leak where Greg had blasted dada for bad fielding and indiscipline!I think that precipitated the matter! 
Does anyone think Ganguly is good enough to play for the team even now.Say by replacing Mohd.Kaif?

superashdoc , have you read that email of greg chappel? it clearly states the incidents where ganguly faked injuries to get out of middle just to come back after few overs(20) when the ball has become old but in the meanwhile india has lost 2-3 wickets.
It has the incidence where ganguly created misunderstanding between Greg & Laxman. Ganguly repeated targetted Middle order batsman as ganguly had to make his place in test team safe which was only possible in the middle order.
I can mail you that particular Email of Greg Chappel to BCCI president.

Let us see how and why Greg Chappel succeeded where John Wright was unable to do so. 
Firstly Greg chappell is a player of greater stature than Wright.So his word had greater weightage.John was mild mannered and a kind hearted man and was easily [bleep] by players.(I have read an article about how Zaheer Khan physically intimidated Wright during a net practice session). 
However Greg is a powerful man physically and mentally.And will put all [bleep] in their place.He used a magical mantra called 'discipline' and immediately the team responded. 
Also he used something called-putting a player out of the comfort zone'.What is this?if anyone knows kindly share your views....

Its not about Ganguly being included or excluded, its about how he's been excluded. I do not propose that ganguly be kept in d team for any other reason than his performance. If he performs take him. But to give such a disgraceful exit to one of the stalwarts of Indian cricket is just ridiculous.

All i can say is, to take certain e-mail as gospel truth is laughable. (ref: supreme court's recent verdict  ) For years there have been reports that ganguly had d support of all youngsters n that was d reason for indian team's improved performance. He inspired confidence and fighting spirit and stood by all his players. Just cos chappel says that was all false, its false! Its strange that we believe a person who has no credibility of his own statements. One day he says he's ok with ganguly n d same day he send such e-mails. How can such a person be believed completely.

Maybe! but remember its plain politics, be it chappel, selectors or ganguly everyone is playing politics. Do u think ganguly is playing dirty games and others r just going by the saint's book. No, my dear, unfortunately greg is much more clever in manipulating than ganguly. That's it, he simply wants his complete control on d team n anybody who doesn't fit in HIS scheme of things is BAD!!!! Its ok for him to exclude ganguly cos he doesn't fit in a good team composition but WHY MALIGN HIM.
Do u think a team can perform so well for SO LONG(remember ganguly improved india's perfomance by leaps) if captain is lazy, political, manipulative and doesn't command confidence of his teammates???
So my contention is if he's not fit enough to be in d team give him a very respectful exit. But don't mangle d image of one of the best captains of indian team just cos a certain chappel doesn't like him.
