Dear Doctor
Here are few valuable suggestions on what to take ?
Pedis - Early income but constant
Gyne - YOUR WIFE MUST BE be gyne , otherwise no GOOD earning
orthopaedics
- Need setup , exponential increasing income.
Medicine - No Investment , High returns , can practise as Cardiologist
Surgery - No Profit if you quit studying thereafter . need setup & high investment , Risky returns
Anasthesia - Good prospects , need travelling , need good relations with
senior surgeons to get cases . No investment. A mobile & bike is enough !
Pathology
- Setup is cheap . Returns not garaunteed. Need references from
doctors need good relations.
Pharmac- Good prospects as lectures get Rs. 60,000 p.m. in Cipla like companies.
Opthalmology - Don't think of earning till 40. Need setup of Rs. 1 crore on loans.
ENT
- Can become oncologist . Patients don't pay enough .
Diplomas - short duration , high prospects , early income .early marriage.
Radio- Need to be attached with big hospitals . You can't practise on your own.
This are few sayings of seniors of about 45 yrs age in these branches .
It's upto you to select the branch for your future ! It happens or may happen the fellow behind you will take a flying career and u simply watch his flying sitting on the ground . Be calm & quiet during counselling . Decide branch first then college. Don't go behind stipend becoz all the stipend u earn in 3 yrs is only 1 month income after you start practising . We wish all the best for AIPGE
2006 counselling - 1st round ! Best of Luck ! Here , its worth mentioning that if you are intrested for a fair 2nd round then please contact [snip] . Once a again ALL THE BEST !

i may not fully agree ..
a lot of MD medicine ppl are not very satisfied in this age of DM
, patients get branched out.
i feel MD medicine is the same fate as MS surgery , though a little better maybe.

I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH FORTUNE.AS FAR AS MD MEDICINE IS CONCERNED IT IS VERY TRUE AS FORTUNE SAID THAT IT REQUIRES NO INVESTMENTS,GOOD INCOME & CAN PRACTICE AS CARDIOLOGIST.THIS IS PROBABLY THE REASON WHY MOST OF THE DOCTORS WHO DONT HAVE A SET UP READY OR HAIL FROM A NON MEDICAL BACKGROUND OPT FOR IT.MOREOVER I PERSONALLY KNOW SOME DOCTORS WHO R PRACTICING AS CARDIOLOGIST WITH AN MD MEDICINE DEGREE.THNX FOR THE NICE POST FORTUNE .KEEP IT UP.

in md medicine not only u can practice as a cardiologist, but if u hv 2-3 yrs of experience in any branch from a reputed hospital u can practice in that branch--eg.
cardio
nephro
neuro
gastro
endocrino
pulmono
etc................
but 1 thing is for sure, every branch has money in it, it is up to u, who U R, matters more.
i have seen doctors minting money with D.L.O.(ENT
), so it is up to u only and not on ur branch.
as i hv seen some DM
cardiology also, whose private practice is a super flop.
so once again, u can earn from any branch, so dont go for a branch just bcoz u think u will get good money in that, but plz for ur own sake pay some attention to ur personal likes and dislikes also, bcoz u cant be happy with medicine, if ur heart was set on surgery (:and specially when u cd hv got it)
natural likes and dislikes, inherrent taltent in that particular subject plays d most crucial role in ur future success in ur career, as well as in ur personal satisfaction.
so best of luck to u all...............
