Quick Scroll about colleges in saurastra Gujarat 02.28.06 (2 years ago) #1

hi everyone

i am internee from saurastra university
i want to contribute about this western most distally located side of india
there are 4 colleges out of which 3 are government and 1 is trust surendranagar
out of 3 government college rajkot and bhavnagar are recently established are not recognized by MCI for PG courses just permitted

about M P SHAH MEDICAL COLLEGE JAMNAGAR

FIRST OF ALL OPTHALMOLOGY DEPARTMENT
you may be shocked to hear that there is no professor , associate professor at present
there is one assistant professor who was doing his 3rd year residency one year back you can say only head of department
you can think of it

PEADIATRICS DEPARTMENT
recently one seniour professor was transferred to ahmedabad
you can say department is so so but modern facilities are lacking
you do not have modern investigations at poor patho department
patient load is heavy from lower socioeconomic class as most of upper and middle class patient go to private ventilator is there but may become non functional from time to time

SURGERY DEPARTMENT
just recently head of department has resigned a very seniour professor and skillful surgon
there are 6 units in surgery department
you can have good amount of OPD patient but no.of operations done are less
at present only superspeciality department is plastic surgery

GYNEC DEPARTMENT
there are 3 units work is quiet hactic as you can expect a flow of patient from lower socioeconomic class

OVER ALL hospital cleaning is very poor also nursing staff is not cooperative
politically jamnagar is not sound as far as getting facilities are concerned
also seniour teachers are frequently trasfered to other colleges as recently radio diagnosis HOD was transferred to vadodara

so think twice before taking a seat at this remote place

Hey donkeydoc, I do wonder which part of Gujarat u really r talking about when u talk about discrimination n regional chauvinism., maybe Saurashtra...but then it's unfair to generalise things like that. icon_confused.gif
