Taking all the factors- quality, ease of use, operability, cost and maintanince i belive sony ericcson P 910i or better P 990 ( 3G handset) is the best option.

well if money is not a problem then go for i-mate phones , they are with great features.

buddy its good but its body material and speaker quality is not good, though this model seems 2 have better software compared to its preceeders, which use 2 hang, still it is to be tested in long run.
sony's p 990 is 3g comaptialble and host better and more useable feature, its more of functional phone then just showy piece of electronics

the compatability with a computer is better with a PDA than a symbian phone, any work done can be transferred, xcel, word or text, notes taken etc

thirty k will get you a decent pda with windows os,

palmOS based treo 650 is THE most stable PDA this planet has ever seen with built-in GSM phone functionality, it opens giant PDF files with amazing ease, no jerks or squeaks whatsoever, the machine dares you to test its limits, yet never lets you down, windows OS based PDAs like all O2s and i-mates though have more RAM but start behaving funny whenever put to heavy tasks like i mentioned above or even opening 50mb type video files, the treo beats all of them hands down when placed side-by-side and simultaneously put to same tasks as any of the windows ones. trust me on this, i have been using the treo for abt 5 months now and no complaints whatsoever
