hi bangalore medical college

my sincere advice think thrice before joining this branch in b.m.c ...... if u r so desperate to take in m.s n u got no way out then go for m.s in b.m.c

chances of doing anything in here is damn rare ..... if u r lucky enough n ur prof is bit nuts then he will allow u .......even a final year p.g s hav difficulty in closing abdomen u can imagine ........

sincere advice no hard feelings wid ppl related to dis coll ..... its d last place i would wanna be ...........
if its for m.s only......

MEDICAL COLLEGE( M.S GENERAL SURGERY)

ADV:1.get lot of time to study for MCh if that is what one is primarily interested
2.VICTORIA H'SP-6units lots of clinical material
BOWRING AND LADY CURZON-4 units mod. amount exposure
3.fairly good superspeciality exposure during 2 year
4.good emergency exposure and chances;again depends upon the unitherni
DIS ADV:1.no rotation among units.if posted in bad unit your 3 years are screwed.
2.stalwart surgeons for which department was famous all have left
3.expect you to work up all elective cases without much chance
4.ing.hernia,appendix,opening and closing abdomen, raising thyroid flaps, amputations is all that you get
5.superspeciallty robs one of gi surgery exposure in ones unit as most of speciality posting last 1 month only
6.only 1 ot per week.Anaesthesia given only till 1 pm.hence have to rush through the ot list.think of what chances you may get.
7.90 % join out of desperation not as their first choice subject and college.
