Quick Scroll MD-Medicine: Patna Medical College, Bihar 02.24.06 (2 years ago) #1

I completed my MBBS from patna Medical College, Patna.
The hospital is great and old and large.
The rush of patients is just enormous.
Advantages : No dearth of eperimenting and reading on your own.

Disadvantages : Dirty hospitals, slimy food, casteismand calllousness of teachers runs rampant. Nobody to teach you anything.
You have to do everything on your own.

Stipend : 9000-10000-11000 ( First - Second-Third yrs of PG )
Bye.

hi, regardng md patna, one or 2 prof r good but rest r how i dont like to comment.u can guess.its so dirty to say that caste politics has has penetrated the minds of each n every feild here u cant imagine.so called most learnd n morally superior DRs ll also help u n teach only if u r of their caste.A BIG SHAME ON MEDICAL FATERNITY.THE SAME THING APPLIES 2 ur senior pg.help 4m them expectd only ur caste matches.ridiculous.though there there r exceptns.4m getting room to treatng patients, everystep matters ur caste matches or not.even messes r different 4 different caste.ur bst frend ll b of ur caste no matters what type of namuna he is.gals n boys r here apart jst like north n south pole.
now patients load. good in num.but patna tops regarding num of criminal in india. on an average for every 10 families there is one criminal who has commited 5-6 murders n other crimes need not 2 say though he might be mudered withn few mnth.so it is not surprising to ve patients hvng revolver in pockt which u ll feel often while palpating[only if he is young].mst patents ll bring leters of mp ,mla, mukhyia who themselves r don of their area.now if som1 dies u can imagine.I M NOT 2 DISHEARTN ANY1 BUT LET U KNOW FACTS SO THAT U CANT REPENT LATER ON.still there r good people n brilliant drs which r no less than any1 in india.one more thing, in few units u r complled to work in ur unit head prof private chambers in evening hr to take history only if u need 2 pass.this ned 2 b complaind 2 mci. icon_cry.gif but stil there r good drs n briliant students.

same here...caste politics is sick....i have done my mbbs from mumbai and have seen anything even remotely similar to what spiritualguru has to say...and i personaly feel pmch is no less than any other college only if a few problems can b dealt with....guess its the pg students who themselves can create a better environment for themselves.........totally agree with doc_praveen

THNX SPRITUALGURU FOR GIVINF INFORMATION OF BOTH THE COLLEGES...
BUT CANT WE DO ANYTHING TO STOP THIS ?
I WILL LIKE TO GET VEIWS FROM STUDENTS FROM BOTH THESE COLLEGES ABOUT THE SITUATION PREVAILING THERE AND WHAT CAN BE DONE IN A PRACTICAL WAY , TO STOP ALL THESE??
AND WAT THE STUDENTS FEEL ABOUT THIS ?
IF MAJORITY DONT LIKE ALL THESE THEN STEPS MUST BE TAKEN AGAINST IT...
ITS REALLY PATHETIC THAT WE MEDICAL STUDENTS ARE ALSO INVOLVED IN THESE THINGS...THERE SEEMS NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN US AND 50% ILLITETRATE POPULATIONS OF THIS STATE....

Quick Scroll the phylumbaazi. 04.23.06 (2 years ago) #8

Hi everyone.
it was enthralling to hear abt the praises(mind it icon_wink.gif ) of my college .
i too feel that casteism should be avoided. it is regarded here by the name phylum or whatever [bleep].
when i took admission in first i got my usual PRIMING DOSE of phylum baazi from my seniors and it took me quite a while to understand it ......i denounced it but when i saw all my batchmates (1st year ones) in white ragging dress sitting with their phylum and going out to parties with them only, i was dumbfounded. So i too got involved in it, but in them meanwhile i never ruined my relationship with other castes( except few who should be outcasted coz of their human nature).
now i'm about to give my II MBBS exams and i truly amm happy as regard to my opinions to ******baazi. my best friend is not even my phylum and he is my room partner too.
so what i say is that if you r truly an openminded and straightforward person u'll never get troubled by these petty matters. the ppl who take it seriously r neither good students( not even students) nor will they land anything successful in future.
i have seen 90% of the good studs of my batch never regard phylum as a gr8 thing, except for getting room partners. but there r a few 10% who indulge in these things and u'll find these 10% doing casteism anywhere even in mumbai or new york.
so i feel that despite being slight benefits of phylumbaazi in first year it weans off in 2nd and final year as ppl find out slowly who they like as their friend( not who was born in same caste)
the few benefits include group study as in 1st year u dont really have a chance to try all your 100 batchmates to find out abt them and icon_wink.gif u get pretty close to your phylum girls( though in the end it becomes hopeless )............as forme, i lost all those benefits in 1st year , neither was my phylumgroup oriented towards studies ( for a while i too become like them) and neither did i got the second benefit.
what really helped me to stay away from the BOOSTER doses by me and few of my gr8 phylum seniors who really were broad minded.
so i say it matters very less for PGs as casteism is a thing for UGs and even if teachers r a little phylumbaaz, dont worry coz if ur a gr8 student even a nonphylum will be honored to give u honors.(it has happend and i know it).u just prove yourself.
I FEEL THAT THE NEW BATCHES THAT HAVE SINCE ME ARE SLOWLY developing tolerance to it. and it is a gr8 sign.
bye,
sid
