WHICH OF FOLLOWING STATEMENTS IS TRUE ABOUT THE EPIDEMIOLOGICAL DETERMINANTS OF MEASLES-
[A] MEASLES VIRUS CAN SURVIVE OUTSIDE THE HUMAN BODY FOR 5 DAYS.
[B] CARRIERS ARE IMPORTANT SOURCES OF INFECTION.
[C] SECONDARY ATTACK RATE IS LESS THAN THAT OF RUBELLA.
[D] INCIDENCE OF MEASLES IS MORE IN MALES THAN FEMALES. {AI 2006}

A,B,D ARE WRONG ACCORDING TO PARK'S.NOW PARK SAYS THAT SECONDARY ATTACKS ARE RARE IN MEASLES.....NOT SECONDARY ATTACK RATE......QUESTION IS ....IS IT REALLY HIGHER THAN RUBELLA....COULDN'T GET ANY REF.....

problem is......park's says secondary attacks are rare in measles.....means suppose I had an attack of measles then chances that i'll have 2nd attack are rare.
but the SAR means chances of myself giving it to my frn.....according to a question in aiims it is >80%.....NOW PARKS SAYS THAT COMMUNICABILITY OF RUBELLA IS LESS THAN MEASLES......THAT MEANS RUBELLA HAS LESS SAR.....SO ACCORDING TO PARKS ALL OPTIONS ARE WRONG.......what to mark then?

I think the whole issue took a u turn with ambiguos statements............. plzz dont trust on something said to be from net without proper evidence.I am damn sure sar is never 100% for rubella. plzz look into the link i provide down here.it clearly says even for CRS it only 50%-60%.
so go with C.
plzzzzzz dont take it other way but believe me these are the disadvantages of studying too much that people start feeling insecure on things that are certain.
