Informing All about ms orthopaedics in BJMC Pune, having done internship here:-
3 units in all
advantages:-
1 large hospital with tremendous workload
2 variety of patients
3 some units get to perform arthroscopy and spine surgery
4 above avg radiology,lab,histopath facilities

disadvantages:-
1 slightly understaffed;not enough guidance in some units
2 laid back attitude;emergencies managed mainly by 1st yr. residents largely alone,in a slipshod manner
3 academics average;don't expect regular post grad programmes(pgp s) or the standards of colleges in Mumbai.average ward rounds
4 presently c-arm out of order. assurance of procuring a new one doing the rounds since one year.

on the whole, good experience of handling patients, but not exactly as per current protocols, onus of learning largely on student himself:some rue lack of adequate guidance.
i would rank 6 on a scale of 10.
Decision is now yours!
all the best!
