Forget it dude. I dont wanna discourage you but Derm is the topmost speciality in demand in US. And as far asthis years match concerns no IMG got in to that. Its extremely difficult even for american grads as it is a top lifestyle branch. Least office hours, minimal malpractice premiums and superb income. Dunno if you're PG in Derm from here but , then also its an utopian dream. Compared to derm Surgical branches are far more possible.'nuff said. Again this is not to discourage you. I've been doing lots of online research for competitive specialities in states [ My main interest is Sx branches ] . And this is what i have extracted from it.

You may want to pursue internal medicine or family practice ...once you graduate you will be able to practice your Dermatology skills to some extent....but not completely...but that will make you very lucrative candidate.

Does it make a difference for any field if we are a post graduate to pursue higher studies in the US?
Are IMGS considered on par with other IM PGs?

I think it is definitely worth taking up dermat if you are getting it in a good college. In my view that is going to be the most sought after field esp among the female folks. It gives space for both family and professional life.
All the best.
