Hi friends. hope you solve this confusion :

Page 73 of Ajay Yadav , text for Anaesthesia 2nd edi. says :





because of its high alkalinity thiopentone gets precipitated in acidic pH of blood forming crystals leading to thrombus formation which blocks microcirculation.
thiopentone also cause damage to endothelium. both these processes produce vasospasm leading to ischemia and gangrene of limb.

c. inject 500 units of heparin ( heparin will change pH to acidic and also prevent thorombus formation).


this is a mistake and so kindly tell me why heparin is injected ????
