Quick Scroll IS the HSMP a solution ?? Temporary, permanent or a mirage? 03.27.06 (2 years ago) #1

Hi all
with context to the present change to immigration rules
I did a bit of reading regarding the possibilities and 2 came up
1. THe working holiday visa(unlikely that we will get onem esp since we are aleady in the uk, post 7/7 they are very strict in giving this and certaingly once u revela you qualifications getting it is a very low probabilty indeed.

2. Next we are left wiht the HSMP
it occured to be the solution for those eligible,
it required no work permit and so there were chances of shortlisting
though it still would have given us a shot at mainly the trust grade but also would have helped those already in training jobs stay there till the end.
Or so we thought
to my utter disgust and horror
I have learnt that doctors even with HSMP are being withdrawn their interview calls(as they are not EU/UK)
those who are eligible to apply have been rejected( it is an applicatio which may or may not be allowed) on the pretext that all the HSMP spaces for doctors have expired for this year OR they have no more need for DOCtors.
This is an additoion to our misery, despite the DOH saying that HSMP maybe treated on equal gounds .Ironical to say the least.
The BMA has even welcomed the abolishment of PFT and now further wants HSMP to be done away with, the toothless tiger ... now growns at the very hands that fed it.
The home office says that HSMP is laregly unchaged (for the moment) with the only changes being that now no points for over 28 , preference(requiremnt) only for those qualified to be a GP and the periodafter one which can apply for PR being raised by a yr to 5 yrs.
Even those with PR are now unequals here .
WE are being uprooted as if we were the wild grass that dared to grow in the queens gardens.
Such treatment could only be meted out on man by man History repeats itself ..
and I hope we too ind out BAPU ...
Some even have termed it a conspircy theory as this rule has coincided with NHS job cuts, and who would bother with IMGS if ther own house isnt in order. For the IMGs will loose jobs surely and the disposed brits wudl surely fins hteir way back into JObs.
Where dos this leave us all ? For what we thought was the answer , was merely a bubble , it will burst it seems?
Now my wise friends , pls wear your thinking caps and try to answer this tough one , HSMP a solution or just a mirage? And what is the real Story???
For it affects not just the ppud's but many a thousand more.
