Quick Scroll FAQ: Is PG in Russia recognised by the MCI? 06.25.04 (4 years ago) #1

Is PG in Russia recognised by the MCI? If not, can any one from Russia practice in that field in which he has specialised without any problem?
Is there any legal aspects to be considered?

Quote:
I have confirmed with MCI,that those doctors having MCI recognised primary qualification(MBBS) and Russian postgraduation(MD/MS/MDS) ARE ALLOWED according to the rules & regulations of MCI to do private practice or work in private hospitals. But If you are planning to become a medical officer in some government hospital in India, then offcourse you will not be given preference.

Dear Ruslal,
Which are the fields that are flourishing in Russia , I mean which are specialities that should be chosen if I wish to pursue my PG there? Russians are good in which fields of medicine? Can you pls give ur opinion.

What I know was Russia is famous for its Space programs-Yuri Gagarin, Sputnik; figther jets-Mig, Sukhoi;arms-Kalashnikov,Makarov,T-90s;Recently-the aircraft carrier- Admiral Gorshkov;Their Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles etc etc icon_eek.gif

But In the field of Medicine - the great scientists Pavlov- Physiologist , Botkin, Mechnikov-Microbiologist and others ... But all that had happened before perestroika. Isn't it?
Not long ago, I had heard of the presidential candidate Dr.Federov , who was a great ophthalmologist and died in an aircrash. But can you kindly suggest me the prosperous fields that can be chosen in case if I wish to pursue my PG there? I can see from your posts that you r an ardent supporter for doing PG in Russia . icon_biggrin.gif
