to my opinion transduodenal sphincteroplasty is best option.
endoscopic sphincterotomy possible not plasty.

Dear Members,
The ideal option would have been endoscopic sphincteroTOMY. But since it has not been given, the next best is transduodenal sphincteroPLASTY. Of course transduodenal sphincteroTOMY can also be done but PLASTY is better as it eliminates chances of restenosis.

the second option is endoscopic sphincterotomy not plasty .

but the answer given is option 1....i.e transduodenal sphincteroplasty !

the question was asked in SGPGI -96.

any reference please ?

Yes indeed the transduodenal PLASTY would be the ideal treatment coz it wont recur later.
For reference see MAINGOT's abdominal surgery
