..well, neodoc..... the fundamental question for anyone like me on the verge of beginning this new journey ..... would be....

'how should i use thse 2yrs so as to make the max. out of it,....?'

so that i when i am out of it at the end of 2yrs,.... i dont feel i did not utilize properly the time and opportunities i had,...
i think u are the best person to ans. this.....

...so, can u please give ur suggestions..?

gud question from u......
in the first 6mths get to know the basics as in physics, positioning, plain x rays, contrast procedures, normal usg, basic doppler, cranial ct and common protocols like chest, abdomen and pelvis, mri sequences.
the next 1yr see exam cases and discuss with frnds and make references.
in the final 6mths start exam preparations and you will be prepared in time.
in between attend cmes and conferences...take breaks and enjoy.
bombay is a wonderful place for radiology.
have a great time.

hey,.... thanks neodoc,....... the basic protocol u suggested looks reasonable,........

u made things appear so easy,........ i hope the 2yrs pass out just as smoothly,........!!

hope u are always available to answer queries,.......

well some more basic questions....

1. have 1mth before term starts,........ any book u would suggest i buy and finish reading by then....?

2. planning to do DNB after this(though it may be too premature to think of it now,... i feel there's nothing to loose in having an aim..)
anything i can do in these 2yrs that would help me in achieving this aim,...?

3. a few 'don'ts' (if any..) acc to u,... that i should keep in mind...

pls try to answer these when u are at leisure,....... would help immensely.....
thanks again.

1. have 1mth before term starts,........ any book u would suggest i buy and finish reading by then....?

in 1month you can go through any radiology physics book like Bushong or Christensen
you can buy chest radiology (Felson) ….it is not a usual text but more like casual read
the other books are expensive and you should discuss before buying them

2. planning to do DNB after this(though it may be too premature to think of it now,... i feel there's nothing to loose in having an aim..)
anything i can do in these 2yrs that would help me in achieving this aim,...?

the hospitals take DNB mostly in January and June so at the moment I feel you can make an estimate of seats in DNB around you.
After your exams you can go around for DNB .

3. a few 'don'ts' (if any..) acc to u,... that i should keep in mind...

Don’t stop after you get one finding on a film.
Don’t study only from one book.
