GRE is graduate record examination.
it is genral test which can b given by a graduate of
any field desirous of pursuin pg in US
it contains followin subj-

QUANTS OR QUANTITATIVE SECTION - This is basically meant to test
skills in maths..

dont get disheartened
as it is v easy .
course not tough than what we
studied till 10 th ..even people can score 100 %

VERBAL - In this section grammer n comprehension skills r tested ...

ANALYTICAL WRITING - in this they test ur thinkin capacity in a situation or essay
type thing

aw - 006

one more question , is taking the GRE helps to change visitor status to student visa??

well as far as visa is related ya u go on
student's visa ...
well d adv here is now a days we docs
r not given visa so easily ...
they cant stop u if u go as a studnt
4 courses like mph MHA etc...i mean
there r less chances of visa rejection...

There's no way you can change your visitor visa to green card except to marry a US citizen.

The other way is to finish your studies on student visa >> Get a Residency >> Convert your visa in H1B (work permit) visa >> wait another 15 years >> Apply for a green card >> maybe you'll get a green card

Choose either of the two... hehe.. But seriously dude, Contact a visa consultancy organisation for more details. You are too much confused abt the visa process.

ya now a days US govt doesnt give green card so easily (mayb aft 9'11) n rules regardin visa r so stringent dat they consider all people applyin 4 visa as immigrants to us unless proved otherwise ....so if ur n indian u have to convince visa officers that u would come back 4 sure (though u may not)...as vzx told
it does take many yr s to get grn crd unless u marry green card holder ....
one of my senior did the same... n got it ..even mle is not a big deal 4 grn crd holder u may get low score yet land up wit good brnch....Thats all i know..

Anyway acc to me getting a students visa and enrolling in a MPH program is more beneficial. You get time to adjust to the new environment, New lifestyle, Climate, etc.

Plus all the studies at MPH college will definitely help u if u plan to do research in medical field. Esp with the biostats and epidemiology courses.

Not to mention that in the 1.5 yrs of doing MPH, you can easily court with a US citizen and marry her. Automatic conversion of visa to green card
