>Thank you for your application and interest in ......... Health Service District, however, I regret to advise that your application has been unsuccessful. Due to the high volume of applications regularly received a decision has been made to narrow selection criteria to applicants with work experience in a clinical capacity in either United Kingdom, Netherlands or Denmark.

Passing both parts of the AMC does not guarantee that anyone will get a job as we have yet to see anyone on this forum successfully get a years supervised training. So the future is unsure for all of us

dear Gorani,
i am so sorry that u hav been refused \, its very obvious that there is some sort of discrimination between overseas dr n drs from uk or netherlands or even the eu countries, i am from egypt n i started to think about going to Australia after i lost hope in uk,but after i read ur letter i really dont know wat to do, i am a freshly f graduate n i am doing y intership now, i will finish on march 2007 so i was thinki of waitin in egyt for like 2 years to hav experince n then apply in AON IN Australia but i dont think these is still an option,
i am so sorry for u ni hope u will find another much more better place
cheer up always remember u hav done ur best
take care
urs sincerly Yasmine icon_smile.gif

yep plabotomy.......u r dead right mate......people ignored crisis in england until they had to face one themselves there....at last every1 said tht ENGLAND IS SATURATED...

THE SITUATION IS PRETTY MUCH SIMILAR HERE....hospitals are least intrested in ur amc status.... hospital director at TOOWOOMBA(QLD) replied me tht he hasnt have any post till mid next year...n he told me tht waiting list is such long tht his staff is least intrested to even open my CV...situation has worsen in last year or so.....
everyone wants to ride his or her luck....so nobody cares wht people say in forums.....but the realty is HARSH n atleast i m facing it now...

dear yasmine,
my purpose was not to discourage some1......neither i m some kind of angel that is showing right path to people.....i narrated wht actually happen to me....before today, i was also neglecting wht people use to say on this forum as i was confident of getting job myself.....again reality is sour....i just felt it...so i posted
its up to u dear to decide ur future...but just always think tht if all r saying the same, there must be some tilting towards the truth...

AON posts were initally started for all the doctors( ie for junior doctors n for specialists)....but soon pretty much of those posts were filled atleast at junior level as doctors from europe( and frm asia) took it as a chance to get themselves settled in not so conjusted Australia
The medical staff crisis in Australia (particularly in qsd) was just related to specialists as they can earn much more in private sector due to expanding Australia ......it was never guys at junior level because new graduates from Australia and newzealand prefers to work in public sector as they feel much safer in govt hospitals initally in their career.........
so, i think this is the reason tht after clearing even amc, most r still reading this forum just to know what actually went wrong.....

Quick Scroll change in situation 05.17.06 (2 years ago) #9

The situations in aussie hav definately changed as off now....the aussie has gone choosy choosy....mayb mainly bcoz of UK fall out situation.....ever heard of stock market in india crashing bcoz of fall in intl. indicies? same happening here i guess....i m pasting a mail frm a hospital which indicates this a bit , the names r deleted on purpose for national security purpose icon_lol.gif icon_redface.gif

Dear Dr Laskar,

Unfortunately we are not able to offer you a place at ___________ Hospital.
We are not officially a hospital in an area of need, rather a busy metropolitan teaching hospital.

I having looked through your CV, and see you have had reasonable experience in your home-country.
Most over-seas graduates whom we consider for a place here at ___________ have completed a medical course which we can bench-mark to our own - such as the British MRCP parts 1 and 2 - or else have published an original article in a listed international journal. Unfortunately you have neither of those.

Should these circumstances change in the future, please resend your application.

Yours failfully,

_______________

Dr ____________ MBChB FRACP FJFICM

So I wont advice anyone 2 go for AON ,if u r frm the subcontinent and until u r neck deep into it and u hav no choice......but its always ur choice to try ur luck ....who knows u mite get lucky.

hey lasp 22,

in ur letter, the wording might have changed, but the message is crystal clear, atleast for us both...

i m not aware of other states, but in queensland, until n unless u have got both amc exams in ur bag( well i think it may effect the outcome though not sure), you dont stand much chance of getting a placement in a hospital merely on basis of ur work experience in sub continent........
