Hey i'm joining from 15th.. would surely benefit from the advice...
According to my seniors if u r good in ur work then favorite's don't make a difference... also they tell me that u should share a good understanding with ur dept. collegues so that adjusting calls isn't a bother & always be sweet & nice to ur staff icon_wink.gif

The thread is an important one for the freshers.
Every one is eager to join their course.
Residency can be a joyful ride but some bumps will always be there.
What you can best do is minimize that.
We in the radiology group have formed an online group 2be together.

Starting with making your first impression with whomever u meet, think a low profile is best unless you have done ug from the same place.
Small things like the mobile phone ringing at unwanted times can be avoided by keeping it in silent mode. Please don’t allow your boss 2see u talking on phone during working hours.
Taking permission for leave even for half an hour is important, it shows how much you respect your boss.

Plan your strategy, the main objective is your exm that u will take in 2and 3years.
Get a copy of syllabus and exam pattern from your hod. Discuss with your batch mates.
The diploma students have 2be faster because time is less.
Know your seminars and be prepared in advance, most times we end up writing ohps at the last moment.
Night duties can sometimes be a big problem when seniors force you 2exchange their duties. Don’t do a duty if you are sure your senior is taking u for a ride.
Seniors are 2be respected but they should also respect you.

The favourites and the not so favourites…..
The seniors will be closer 2faculty than the freshers.
Never mind u will be a senior next year.
What ever problems u have pls avoid name dropping, u will lose trust among faculty and your frnds.
You could best take the person in confidence and express your problems.
Keep a safe distance from senior faculty. The small questions in your subject can be asked 2your seniors.
These are only some points.
There will be situations depending on time, place and person.

Best wishes

Oragnise yourself.
Having a small pocket note book, where you fill details about things pending for each patient, will help you do things faster and prevents unfinished work also.
Like 'send S. Li levels on 5th Sep.' etc etc.
It helps you to get free earlier in the evening.
