Dear mrk,
Thanks for reply. I have graduated from Dhaka Medical College on May,2003 & completed FCPS Part-1 exam on Jan05. Have done 1 year postgrad. training. Regarding MRCP
preparation, different people follow different techniques. But according to me I want to mention some tips to have good preparation.
1. Solve as many quest. as you can. Specially onexamination, emrcp, pastestonline and mcq book by Khalid Bin yeamin
2. Regarding Basic science Philippa Easterbook & its mcqs book. Actually knowledge of Pharmacoklogy is very important. Basic science also is a key for MRCP
pass. Also have to gain idea of Statistics as the quest of this topic is relatively straightforward.
3. Kalra is very difficult to memorize, but every topic is important here. Try to memorize causes, prognostic factors, indication, contraindication, S/E etc. but dont get upset if fail to memorize it. At least three times reading of Kalra is necessary although i could read it only twice.
4. Browse the aipge, mcqs & rxpgonline forum regularly 7 u can get important mcqs & data from them.
5. The emphasis should be given on solving more & more question & of course revise this at least twice.
I think this is sufficient for preparation of 3-4 months. Regarding Kumar clark/davidson I would recommend u to get help from them during solving question or if u get any topic in kalra difficult to understand. It is not so useful to memorise Kumar/davidson as by solving quest u can feel where is the key point, which line is important etc. Any way, some of my friends who took long preparation of 1 year did study Kumar thoroughly. So u r the person who can decide which is right for u considering your preparation time.
Thanks
Rahat
