Quick Scroll Help: How HOT Topics are calculated in RxPG Forums 06.15.06 (1 year ago) #1

Following user's FEEDBACK (esp. aujla's), we have implemented a new dynamic algorithm to calculate hot topics in any forum in RxPG. This algorithm will analyse each forum on its activity level and assign a cutoff (threshold) for hot discussions individually. This way, a highly active forum i.e. offbeat, docindia will have a higher cutoff for hot topics while a less active or developing forum i.e. md Psychiatry will have a lesser threshold.

We hope that this new algorithm will justify the cutoff value for hot discussions and will be better than using an arbitrary value.

The cutoff for each forum is displayed at the hot topics page for that forum.

Regards
