i am a gp from iran and i am studying for USMLE .i am reading kaplan lecture notes only and i am going to take the exam in january 2007,i want to know how hard the exam is and how i can get passing score?you know i think it is not easy to answer 60-70% correct!!!!!!!

(as i experience in preinternship & basic sciense exam!!!!!!!).
if anybody has taken the exam please give me an advise.at least i want to know is there any iranian in us that going to take the exam like me?please let me know.

i bought all of the caplan lecture notes from teimourzadeh store in bolvare keshavarz,ebtedaye khiabane 16 azar.you can find more information about these books at this website

As I know teimourzadeh has the very old edition (2002) of kaplan qbook & lecture notes.

Are they useful for 2007 exams?!

Isn't there any way to find the newer editions in our country?

as you said these books are old edition and i have these books and i don't have any information about other publications that have the new edition of kaplans or not .and actually i don't know if these books are good enough than the new edition or not.i am in america and i don't have access to other publications to ask about this.
let me ask you a q?do you have any information about this exam?how hard is it or any other information??as you read my first note and answer if you know i will be more thankfull...thanks....

If you live in US at present time, it would be easy for you to find the latest edition of aforementioned books & maybe registering in kaplan courses! The big problem is for people who live inside Iran!

Unfortunately, as I haven't read neither the old nor the new one I can't compare them but it's obvious that the new edition would be more suitable.

About the exam, it seems a tough one especially for iranians because of visa problems, lack of related publications such as kaplan in iran, and also some exam-related issues such as its long time, importance of your score,...

Apparently, kaplan lecture notes & Qbank & also usmleworld Qbank are the milestones to be prepared for step2ck but the other popular ones are: First Aid for the USMLE Step 2, Blueprints, Boards and Wards for the USMLE Steps 2 & 3.

is ther any body here who has taken the USMLE exam?I am a 7th year med student ... I haven't yet applied for the exam but I am preparing myself...can any one tell me how do I prove to be a med student to be eligible to take the USMLE step 2...do I have to present them with a document from the university?(this year tehran university does not give any kind of certification before I complete my services!)
