the commentest mistake u make is not able to decide whether to study for the finals or for the pge.the thing is until u pass the former u can't appear for the latter.
there shud be a symbiosis between such studies.u should write down notes and keep them safe.just perusing them will solve ur problem.for entrance we have to study all that is latest but for final yr its not required so planning is a must.if u're in the beginning of the final yr then read harrisson fro medicine, a decent book like schwartz for sugery and nelson for paeds.
remember studying for mcqs is always different from that of subjective questions so plz take care of that.read the smaller accessory subjects thoroughly coz thats what matters in the end with the wieghtage given to them.

thanx a lot legolassildarin..

hey everyone please contribute more...

thats amazing!!

well....in that case how to revise the paraclinical subjects??
how do you make time for physio...anatomy....biochemistry etc along with final year subjects.??
yeah combining everything.....like for studying CHD using embryology anatomy n paed sounds fine.....but u dont always get the speed. How do you make time for everything?

dear rhiannon,
well i think it l be more effective if rather than planning to revise pre-final years' stuff, we rather concenterate on final year subjects...

take hold of book like mk/ aa and try to identify important topics of final year from them.. based on this highlight the important stuff in your text-book..

this not only makes the present reading interesting but will save loads of time later on...

happy reading...!!

Just prepare for Final with an eagle's eye, with a habit of reading at least 50 MCQs from different books on that subject. When u read surgey u read surgery MCQs, and so on. Don't try to choose MCQS, rather read continuously what is written in that book. That's to say that make a habit to go thro' MCQs.
Always remember that passing Final exam is not a matter of joke. And that is your first choice.
