hi,
i need your advice on this. i am actually in two minds about giving qe2. this is one exam that people give after one yr of post grad in Canada . i agree we are eligible but i dont know the difficulty level of this exam and so i was thinking if i score badly in that exam or fail will that lessen my chances in this year's match or will it be an advantage if i give it and pass with whatever score and become a licentiate of Canada .
if i dont give it there is a chance they might think i can do better in qe2 (i dont have gr8 scores in mccee and mccqe1) after residency. but if i give it and get a bad score then i am stuck with a bad score for life.(i am assuming you cant repeat qe2)
i dont know if i am thinking right so i need your inputs to be able to decide on this.

Hi Achilles,

We all Imgs will have doubts till we enter into this canadian medical system.

QE 2 can be given at any time after passing QE1 . PG residency in Canada is not the must. MCC says to be eligible for QE2., One year Postgraduate internship in any part of the world is enough. We Indians must have done this with part of our UG curriculum. So you can go ahead.

Definitely, the exam will be challenging for us. But this will not be a problem for you as you are going to prepare for OSCE IMGO. Scores does matter if you apply for residency. It is not an absolute requirement . but it adds to your value. For example, if 3 candidates stand at the same point. There is a possibility that CARMS may take your scores for assessing.

For applying residency you need to have only EE. but ,you see there are hundreds of IMGS waiting to get into the syatem after clearing all the exams.

thats right rsshruthi, we all will have confusions and the more we all share info the more all of us can do better at trying to get into residency in Canada .
and thanks for clearing my confusion. i thought about it myself and talked to a few people here and after all that i am going for my qe2. will complete the form by this weekend and send it on tuesday.
