By Allah's grace, I have passed the FCPS 1 exam. I gave it in Medicine.
I am here to help anyone out especially in Medicine, since I know about it better!

Better luck for those who couldn'tmake it this time. Believe me, giving the exam itself is one big task, clearing it the other!

I can only comment on the preparation path for Medicine. Regarding ur query of wats the future and how much u can earn, I shall not entertain such a q's. This question should be asked from within urself to u as to what u want to achieve in life. Money , Glory, or both.

Discuss this with other docs who have cleared FCPS and also with those who r undergoing training. FCPS is no cake walk. U have to fight ur way through it.

Regarding prep for the exam:

Patho: BRS
Physio: BRS
Anatomy : Snell Review / High yield ( snell is recommended more! )
Cell Bio / Histo: High yield ( only epitheliums, collagen, sheer basic stuff..!)
Neuro: High yield ( i love this book! )
Embryology: First Aid
Pharmacology : First Aid
Mirco/Immuno: First Aid
Biochem: First Aid ( vitamins, basic enzyme def diseases like PKU, cell organelles )

the plan:

I read patho first..! immediately after finishing each chapter, i solved the questions of that particular unit from Murad. That way, came to know about the pattern and level of questions that can be asked !

After the first reading of all subjects, then i gave one more reading to the entire First Aid ( this time including Patho and Physio as well )...that truly helped

....next after finishing FA, gave one more quick review of Murad.

Lastly, all the last month, i read FA again and again, did q's from those 2 books (Pool q's for FCPS I and Handbook of FCPS)........

Don't do USMLE qbank or qbook. Their level is way too high.
U have ample mcq resources.
Anatomy : Snell Review and Snell Text ( both have questions at the end of each chapter )
we had a couple of q's in the exam from Snell Review ...copied word by word!
Pharma: Katzung review Mcq's
Patho and Physio: Mcq's in BRS are quite handy!

First Aid is a must to be read at least 3 times.
I can safely say that one cannot pass by skipping FA, and one cannot pass either by studyin only FA!

Lastly!.....LUCK! ( U will need tons and tons of it! )

best of luck!

for cardio, u need to give fcps 1 in medicine...
then complete 2 yrs training in internal medicine and then go onto joining 3 years of training in cardiology!

ur fcps training will be counted for the MRCP exam, if ur training is supervised by two FRCP/MRCP of at least 8 years standing!

the time duration is 18 months for eligibility into paces!
yes, u can be supervised by a fcps and frcp doctor at the same time both for MRCP and fcps, but u need one more frcp/MRCP as a supervisor for ur MRCP !
